anyone else get destroyed by super prep B?

Post by sangr » Sat May 22, 2010 12:29 pm

i just took section 1 LR of this and its definetely hit me the hardest since ive studied for this test.

so ive been ranging anywhere from -2 to -6 these days for each LR on the test...

and i took super prep B LR section one and got a whopping -8 on the section.

wow...i was just left speechless because this is worse or right back where i started several months ago.
i saw the curve and it was -14 or -16? but still this has to be the most discouraging crap ever so far for lsat.

anyone else care to tell me their experiences with this one?

Yea, I got a lot of stuff wrong but thankfully it had a generous curve.

-14 was still a 171. It was almost entirely in LR.

I am quite glad I am not the only one noticing this.

I scored a 178 on the real exam - and I definitely was destroyed by the LG sections in Super Prep. I think that twice I didn't get to the fourth game at all, and once I got like a question into it.

The Super Prep LG sections are *much* harder than any of the LG sections which have appeared on exams in the last five-seven years. All the same, it's good to go over those games multiple times, until you really understand those games. If you can ace those games, you will ace any modern LG section. Plus, a few of the Super Prep games, like Birds in a Forest, etc. have appeared in simpler form on recent tests (particularly testing negative rules in grouping games).

So look at these tests closely, but don't use them as diagnostics.

I did well on B, but poorly (comparatively) on A and C.

Ugh, the super preps. I took a Superprep LG section and it rocked my world. -7. Not my usual; however, I'm glad to know the curve was generous and the games were actually more difficult than usual for real...meaning: I wasn't making excuses to justify my poor performance.

Yeah!!! I got a 166 on that test with a -4 -11 -4 -1.

I typically only miss one, if that on the LG, but that was ridiculous!!

I miss the SuperPreps....170, 173, and 172 on A, B, and C respectively. My wrong answers tended to be balanced all around. I did get a perfect score on the LG in A though.

What I am having a hard time with are the newer tests....lowest has been 166 and haven't been able to break 170 yet. Curse you harder RC.

I'm at the beginning of my prep and just took PT A. It destroyed me and my score is 3 points lower than my diagnostic (which I went into cold... now I have the LGB under my belt!!) I can't even figure out the second logic game (salespeople)... I'm trying to do it untimed and still having trouble.

thanks lsac.

obviously after posting this in a public forum i discover my fatal reading comp error in the instructions, making this a much easier lg. whoops!
