Not touching LR for weeks at a time = improvement?

I've had two significant layoffs from studying LR in the course of my prep for June. One was in March. I came back better than ever at LR. Now I took another couple weeks off and have found i'm better than ever at LR. Am I on to something?

Maybe taking a break here or there for a few days or the odd week might be helpful, but I think not touching LR for weeks at a time wouldn't benefit you. I'm not willing to try though to figure out . Especially not this close to the test date.

maybe you're just giving your brain a rest from all the hard work? that's pretty weird

I had the same thing happen too after my layoff from Sep09. My first LR section I picked up I went -3 (as opposed to -7 and -8 I went on the real thing). Maybe I'm just down to -2/3 now. Gotta eliminate the silly mistakes.

i have been reviewing the crap out of my LR mistakes, specifically focusing on why the answer i think is correct is actually wrong. it really helped me improve my LR scores, but im now proficient at discerning flawed reasoning behind ALL of the answer choices (this just began happening 2-3 days ago). i plan on taking the next 2 days completely away from LR and testing your hypotheses supporting improved accuracy from a break in reviewing. hopefully this lifts me off of the -4/5 LR per section plateau ive been on.

yes, the same thing happened to me :) all of a sudden, i feel like i have a new understanding of lr questions! it's like something just clicked. i think part of the change may be that i've gained confidence in my ability to solve questions?

maybe it's just once you get the technique down you improve. But I think going into LR sections fresh is the best way because your mind isnt cluttered with a lot of stuff to make you overthink questions.
