Why is the answer to this question A? I thought the Oneida delegates had nothing positive to say or feel about the Canandaigua Treaty. Can someone explain why a positive sounding answer is the answer to this question? Thanks.

I think you're thinking that the Canandaigua Treaty is the readjustment policy that the U.S. government tried to impose on the Oneida. If you read closely, you'll notice that the Canandaigua Treaty is the agreement that had been in place that the government was now trying to replace with the readjustment policy. The Oneida's attitude toward the treaty can be clearly seen in the last sentence of the third paragraph: "Finally, the offer of a lump-sum payment was unanimously opposed by the Oneida delegates, who saw that changing the terms of a treaty might jeopardize the many pending land claims based upon the treaty."
