I find that 17-22 are usually the worst

The LR questions start out easy and get harder. It's not constant and consistent (ie not every question is harder than the previous one) but generally the earlier questions are easier than the later ones.

Yeah, I agree with the other replies. I usually get through the first ~15 questions in 15 minutes and then have 20 minutes for the last ~10 questions. The earlier questions tend to have more of the quicker question types like weaken, strengthen, and must-be-true. At the end there are always some long parallel reasoning ones or trickier questions in general, so it's nice to have extra time to work them out.

don't be an idiot and over-think it like i did on dec. 09. changed the "obvious" answers from 15-22 to more "subtle" answers. got owned.

17-22 are definitely consistently the most difficult... i went through "The Next 10" and did all the LR sections, missing 2-3 per section on avg, and almost 100% of the time 17 and 21 were among those missed. maybe i psyched myself out somehow, but i still think those two are usually the most difficult Qs in the section.


imho skip 17-22 and any parallell reasonings until you finish all the Qs. get the timely and relatively easy points first, then go back and do the timesucks. use the momentum you get on 1-15, that way you won't become frantic for the relatively simple last 3-4 and make careless mistakes.

I find skipping questions to be a risky proposition. It only adds more time constraint and pressure to you as you complete the LR section, and you will undoubtedly subconsciously be thinking about the questions you skipped in the back of your mind. What if 17-22 are relatively easy, yet you get stuck on 24 and 25... forcing you to come back to 17-22 with limited time and increasing your chance of mistakes. I just dont see enough reward in skipping groups of questions.
