I have been skimming over the Powerscore Bibles (LR and Games)...I am beginnning to think they are really overkill. Since we are down to 6 weeks left, I am thinking about using Kaplan Premier 2010 (it's way shorter) and doing the 22 most recent PT's from LSAC.

Has another on here done fairly well (over 160) by just doing and (throughly) analyzing PT's...and using Kaplan?

Regarding your study plan: That's more than I'm doing.

To answer your question: There are people on here who could have beaten 160 cold.

It would have been great to actually read both Bibles...but, i am not going to have time over 6 weeks to read like 800 pages and complete 22 PT's. You know what I mean?? It's just really a waste of valuable time.

As for you...taking the PT's is the best way...just analyze each one.

I took one a while ago...I didn't take it in a quiet room and I also rushed through things and guessed a lot. I took it to just get a feel. How about you?

It's worth pointing out that in spite of their length, neither one of the bibles takes that long to work through. It took me about a week and a half to work through the lgb, and another week for the lr bible. I was doing about two hours a day. If you really struggle with some of the concepts, it might take longer, but with about 6 weeks to the test I think it would still be very helpful to go through each of those books, at the very least the games bible.

I totally agree. I took Powerscore's full length class last fall for the Sept. test and am retaking in June to try to get off waitlists. My prep is going through the bibles and doing PTs. At about two hours a day it took me a week and a half for the LR bible as well. With six weeks you should be able to get through both and do PTs. I think they're very helpful even after taking the full length class.

I completely understand where you are coming from, but I don't think that I have that kind of time to spare at this point.

I cannot afford to take a class at this point--I would have loved to, but I am unfortunately broke

Do you have LSAC's SuperPrep? It has brief - but very helpful - chapters for each of the sections, and three full practice tests with explanations. You can read it in a day or two, and take the tests whenever. I found it to be a good intro to everything, and after reading it scored a 171 on the first practice test I took. Maybe try reading it and then just doing PTs.

(I'm going through the Bibles now, though, and really like them, fwiw.)

In my opinion, reading through both bibles and taking only 11 practice tests would be more conducive to improving your score than not reading them and taking 22 practice tests, unless you are already scoring very high (like a cold 170). In particular, I think this is true for the games section, because using their techniques really improves your speed, efficiency, and accuracy, and it's a lot tougher to come up with your own techniques for diagramming and such than it is to just use ones that are known to work well. Additionally, if you don't get the score you want in June and decide to retake in September, you'll then have more of the newer practice tests remaining unused. But everyone works differently, so just figure out what you think is best and go for it.

edit: I overlooked that you said you were considering using a Kaplan book instead. I don't know anything about those, so that may undermine my argument (as you can see, LSAT studying is taking over my thought process...).

I do have the LSAC SuperPrep--I forgot to mention that as well (sorry). I am going to read that too.
