I am planning my regiment very close to what Pithypike's studyguide has entailed. I took a Kaplan Extreme course last summer, but did not walk away with alot of improvement due to my own lack of involvement. (work, etc.) I have put aside work for the summer, and have bought almost all of the materials pithypike suggested. My last diagnostic test from kaplan was 140, and I am shooting for 160+ by october... is it doable? Any tips pithypike might have left out?

How many hours can you put in?

I am taking the October LSAT also, I started studying on April 11th and have put in 33 hours of study time so far, with a goal of 400 by test day.

How was your Logical Reasoning section? What are your weakest sections?

I just started prepping for the October LSAT on April 16th, thats six months, I'm gunning for a 180 and Columbia. Lets just get as many hours as we can in. The LSAT is our life for the next six months.

I did relatively well on my LR section, I think around 85%+ but my problem is the games, so Im going to hammer them down as much as possible.

You have 3 posts, you aren't TLSing.

4 months is a lot of time to prep. Don't stress out just yet.

well i am taking 2 online classes as a junior in my undergrad, and 2 actual on campus classes, so i already worked out a schedule comprising of about 5 hours of studying (MWF) and a Plsat on tuesdays and thursdays in the morning at 9am to sort of simulate real testing... and after the tests, spend about 2 hours reviewing/dissecting answers as much as possible.

so total, ideally would be 20 hours per week of studying. weekends I will be doing whatever is troubling me the most... logic games namely for now...

Your schedule sounds intense. 20 hours a week + school sound like you might burnout, or most likely not be able to put in the time. Any chance you have the summer free for 20 hours/week studying and then just focus on practice tests and reviewing during the school year?

If you don't fuck around it is plenty.

Though if you've taken a course and you still PT at 140 something is wrong with you. Either you aren't studying right, taking the rest right, or have a subpar intelligence.

So when you study this time, take it seriously, and focus on taking sections in realistic conditions.

I took the kaplan extreme course, and your absolutely right. I was working my night shifts all throughout summer to make money thinking I could do everything at once, and failed miserably at doing so. Its because of my experience last summer that ive completely rooted out working at all, and my entire summer will be dedicated to prepping for the test this time. The only thing I did right in my opinion is to not have taken the actual test after the kaplan course lol.

Plenty of time. When I first started about 3 months ago (nearly exactly to the day) I couldn't do any of the logic games (not an exaggeration). Now i'm averaging about 175 on timed 5 section practice tests, topping out at a 179 (and two 178). Short story, I'm guessing I would probably have scored in the 150's when I first start (didn't take my diagnostic until I had finished the LG Bible), after taking a month to go through the LG Bible and the first couple chapters of the LR Bible scored a diagnostic score of 165. After 2 months, and finishing the majority of the LR bible, I was averaging probably around 170. Now after month three my last 10 timed PT's or so are at a 175 average (although only half of those are 5 sections). I also took nearly 2 weeks off for finals week and the first few days of spring break without doing much studying for the LSAT, if any at all.

So yes, 4 months is enough time if you work hard, spend enough time, and do lots of PT's. If I were to start again knowing what I now know, I wouldn't worry at all about the various classifications given in the LG Bible, and go through it much quicker. I only did about an hour a day or maybe a little bit more. It also took me about a month to work through the LR Bible, and I probably spent an hour to two hours working on it a day. I would go through the Bibles much faster, then start putting questions, sections, and tests under my belt.
