Need Motivation...

I have been consistently studying several hours a day for the last several months, but for the last couple of days can not find the motivation to study. I came down with a horrid cold/flu, and was drugged out in my bed for a couple of days. I'm feeling a little better, but this break in my routine has hit me hard. The rational part of mind is shouting for me to get off my ass and get to it, but my soul/body is protesting :( Has this happened to anyone? Please help?

If you've been studying consistently for months, a little time to relax won't hurt and could actually help. If you think that taking it easy could help you from burning out I highly recommend it. You want to be fresh and eager during the month leading up to the test (I'm assuming that you're taking in June). Balance between work and relaxation is important to your mental and physical well-being, and your well-being is important to you performance on test day.

Thank you. Your advice makes a lot of sense. I just finished Blueprint Movie and feel like most of the concepts have really clicked. I didn't know I was burned out, until I came up for air :?

This taken from the thread on SCOTUS clerks from the t14, years 2008-2010:
existenz wrote:Not surprising since 8 of the 9 justices went to Yale or Harvard (Justice Stevens, now retiring, went to Northwestern. I think those justices look out for their alma mater so Y and H are ridiculously over-represented.

Stuff like this just shows how determinative the LSAT is. High LSAT --> HYS --> Clerkship --> Easy Street. Bomb the LSAT and you might as well just forget about it. /self.
I'm not sure if it's real motivation, but it is super important to realize how key the LSAT is.

Go.

Do.

It.

(Really, go study more.)

Actually, when I had something like this happen, I got back into the game by redoing some things I had already done. My weak spot was LG, so I redid a few LG sections. It wasn't too much for my brain, it was sort of fun to remember stuff and plow through the sections. Might help you.

I put myself on a 5 week schedule for BP-Movie so I would have enough time to take actual PT's. I did not do many PT's during the course, but completed the homework in one sitting so I got used to concentrating for long periods of time.

Tomorrow I will sit down and study, even if I have to cry throughout the process. Ty for the motivation guys :) My GPA isn't as strong as I would like, so I need to kick ass on this test :D

A little break won't hurt you, and it may in fact be beneficial.

But if you really need motivation, I think TLS is a great place to start. Go read some of the profiles of your top choices, and that should get you jazzed up about law school and make you realize the hard work you'll have to put in to get where you want to be.

if you have a low gpa, think about how one test can turn around your admissions outlook and make up for four years of slacking/fun.

crush it.

Awesome and congrats!

I frequently had to schedule "off-time" from the LSAT and would watch Office reruns. I felt kind of guilty, but you need time off to re-energize sometimes.
