Scored near top of PT avg and retaking LSAT

The general consensus seems to be to retake if you scored below your PT average. What should you do if you scored near or above? Did anyone in this situation retake? If so, how did it turn out?

Diagnostics: 147
PT avg (30 PT's): 163
Last 2 PT's: 166,165

Actual: 165 (September 09)
Goal: 168+

I am retaking in October 2010 and have some time to practice and redo most of the PT's. I have an ambitious goal to score 168+
What do you think, possible? Or no?

Possible if you can improve your PT average to around 168.

Yup. I'd try to jack it up to at least 170. Almost everyone goes a couple points lower on test day, whether it's their first time taking it or not. You've almost assuredly not going to pick up 3 points on the day if you've been PTing 164/165s.

You have about 6 months to raise your score by three points? I say to raise the bar and go for 170+!

You can definitely do it! Pay ZERO attention to the ones who say you can't.
