Since the schools only have to report the highest score, it doesn't really matter like it used to.

It still matters, certain schools do still average (though very few).
Also LSAC only lets you take the test 3 times within a two year frame, so unless you get a law school to grant you a fourth administration, thats your limit. (This includes if you cancel a score).

I took it 3 times (1 cancel) and I can't complain about my cycle. I think the problem is if you take the LSAT again and score lower or the same.

Taking the test multiple times doesn't make you look bad per se. Taking the test multiple times and scoring lower will hurt you.

I've taken the test multiple times, and my most recent (and highest) score is reflective of my cycle.

You will look bad for me if you take it more than once. For most schools, I think it doesn't matter much at all.
