I decided to give it a try and took the LSAT in half the time (17.5 minutes per).. I was actually relatively pleased with the outcome (161). My thoughts now are, should I ever attempt that again? Or are the rumors that it will help pretty overrated? I see the benefit of making sure you are capable of working within the time limit, but I also can see the benefits of giving yourself the full 35 minutes to get used to the more formal way of solving the problems.

any input would be great (I still have plenty of time..taking in June)
I think it's useful to attempt sections in 30 minutes to create a bit more time pressure, but doing a section in 17.5 minutes is a waste of a section, IMO.

this sounds like a good idea once you are really far into your preparation. but definitely not for anyone jsut starting out. and i agree with the 30 minute as opposed to 17.5 minute sections.
