Can someone explain to me why the answer is A. The prompt says that they should be sent to jail or driving school, so why is A right?

There are two possibilities for these violators: they should either get jail or re-education. But re-education works only if it will make them more responsible drivers. In other words, if re-education will work, then it will make them more responsible drivers. However, it is almost impossible for these drivers to become more responsible. If these drivers won’t get more responsible, then re-education won’t work. But then the only option for these drivers is jail.

So its one of those questions that are not perfect and all the other answer choices are kind of stretches? I get the logic behind, but I usually take LSAT questions to be super literal so it through me off that it was the answer even though there is some uncertainty. But it makes more sense then all the other answer choices.

Frankly, this question sucks. The correct is correct because it lists one of the items in the necessary condition (although there were two). The test-makers might just list one necessary condition to throw-off test takers(when we're expecting both items listed, either in repeat form or as the contrapositive). I don't think I've ran into another question similar to this (I would love to prior to the June test).

The other answers were just wayy off. C talks about harshness. (b) talks in direct conflict with the info in the stimulus. And the others are outside the scope.
