How do you diagram this sentence, if diagrammable at all?

Getting confused, hope someone can help with diagramming the below sentence.

'A gross disproportionality principle is applicable to sentences for terms of years."

Is it: GD-> SFTY? OR SFTY--> GD?

Diagrammable is probably not a word, but my entire question couldn't fit.

Thanks for the help.

I suppose you could analyze the sentence as equivalent to "If it's a gross disproportionality principle, it's applicable to sentences for terms of years," which would match your first diagram.

I'd write something like, "gross dis. -> applicable," myself.
