I took this PT awhile back and I don't have the answers. In the book I have D circled, but looking at it now A seems more likely but an argument for D could be made.

The fact that the stimulus proceeds by stating that the rate of cutting down trees determines the threat to woodland species makes me think A, but A seems like it may go a bit far because it says that the faster we expend resources the sooner we will be left without an energy source.

D makes sense to me as well because it seems to follow the structure of the stimulus, but it doesn't discuss the rate at which an action is taking place, which seems to me to be the crux of the stimulus.

(A) discusses rate, but the logical struture of the argument does not match, which is the key to parallel questions. don't get tied up by the topic.
