Do you guys find it more effective to read others' explanations of PT answers or to figure things out independently? Does working through why an answer is right or wrong on your own give you a stronger grasp of the logic behind the questions?

Back when I was doing that, I tried to figure it out first, and then I read the explanation. But I might not be the one to listen to since the LSAT, while decent, was my weak link.

The way I'm looking at it is if you're in the beginning stage of preparing you should look to the explaination so you can ingrain the right methods.

You should always try to figure it out on your own first, and then (especially early on) consult the explanation to see if it matches what you're thinking. If it does, good. If it doesn't, then ask if your way is legitimate and ask if the explanation's way of doing things is easier/better than your way.
