Question: Is there a place to leave prohibited items? I'm taking public transit (so no car) then going out of town for the weekend straight from the site and would like to take my phone.

Depends on your testing center, but don't count on it.

The thing I've noticed that screws at least a handful of people over and over is DON'T BRING DIGITAL WATCHES!! You cannot use them. So take analog. And a snack with drink. And pencils. That's really all you need.

I don't see why not. They can only govern your behavior within the period starting when you walk in and ending when the test is over. It seems to me that whether your phone is not with you and 200 feet away in a bush or not with you and 20 miles away at your house, you are abiding by their rules. Plus, it's basically the same thing as leaving it in you car packed in the parking lot. Seems like that argument could be made if it were to be an issue, which there won't be, unless the fine print says that any item which is not allowed in the testing room must be located inside of something which you own. Which to my knowledge there isn't, so I don't think it should be a problem. Someone picking up a sweet phone they found in the bushes is another story

If you're taking it in February, just turn off your phone and put in your inside coat pocket.

Eh, I'd feel wrong about doing that.

But I could put it in a ziploc bag/container and bury it in a snowbank.... that's a good idea..

I think what you're willing to do with your own phone is really your call.

You shouldn't get in trouble for it, if that's what you're worried about.

Bring the phone and give it to the proctor in your test room. See if he or she will hold on to it for you. Say you had to bring it to call a ride home or something. Unless, of course, there's a space for people's purses, coats, etc. where you can leave it.

I had a test center experience where people wore hats and hoodies, and one where people had to leave them at the door. I don't think anyone was cheating with their clothing, but has anyone else experienced lax rule enforcement?
