I'm trying to change my test date from Feb to June but for some reason American University, Gtown, etc inside the district aren't available. Any idea why the DC testing centers are unavailable for this test? Are they already full?

They dont assign centers until they get a grip on how many people are taking the test. So no they arent full already

If I need to change the date should I just book any testing center and change when it becomes available? If so, is there a fee for changing centers?

FWIW, the American test center is a 10/10 in my book.

georgetown test center sucks. You take the exam in a lecture room. Hence, more people who create distractions ie. going to bathroom, raising their hand and asking questions during the exam! (What dumb fuck needs to ask a question about the exam during it?)

I actually ended up liking UDC's testing facilties. Nice big tables, lots of room. Especially if you are left-handed.

I had the same problem last year, GULC didn't open up until March or so, if I recall.

And for what it's worth, I thought GULC was about as good as a testing center could get.

Thanks for the advice...but does anyone know if there's a charge for changing your testing center location? I need to postpone until June but the American facility isn't available yet on LSAC's website.

What ever you do, try not to get Georgetown. It is close to my house which was nice, but it completely sucked. The lecture room environment was cramped and they proctors were just poor. Our proctor had their phone go off like 4 or 5 times and had to leave the room. On top of that, because the lecture room is so cramped you don't have space to relax. I bombed the test and part of it was the fact that the girl behind me had her phone go off. They have us so damn close that they couldn't tell if it was me or her so they made both of us stop and then they realized it was her.

NEVER DO GEORGETOWN, I REPEAT NEVER DO GEORGETOWN.

I'm taking the Feb test at UDC. I live near Dupont, so its an easy ride up the red line to Van Ness. I'll post my thoughts after the exam

You must be on crack. I went to GULC and it was awesome. The chairs were a soft yet supportive leather, no squeaking or any ambient noises, and they seated us in every other chair. The only way you could possibly be cramped is if you're so morbidly obese you need 3 seats on an airplane. Additionally, they had lines to check in broken by my alphabet to expedite things.

Also, a proctor's phone going off or trouble with someone in the room has nothing to do with the quality of GULC. Those things can happen anywhere...

You sound like one of those Yelpers who rate a restaurant 1 of 5 stars because "we got seated by a party and it was so loud" or "we got seated by the bathroom."

I think the guy complaining took it at GT University campus, not GULC. I've read other people complaining about the main campus testing facilities.

NO, I took it at the GULC on New Jersey Avenue and I stick to my thoughts. It may not have bothered you, but so many in the room I was in, had the same complaint. I actually dropped off three folks who were waiting for the bus in that bad weather, and they all said the same thing. But honestly to each its own. I honestly wasn't taking the test to be comfortable, I'm taking it with a purpose.

Has anyone tested at Howard?

So obviously comfort was a HUGE concern for you. Again, they seated us every other. So you can't possibly feel cramped unless you're so far you spill not one but TWO seats on each side over your chair.\

GULC is a great testing environment.

I'm an undergrad at Gtown, and I know where they do the LSAT on campus... and it definitely sucks. I wouldn't sign up for Georgetown even though I live 2 mins away from campus!

I tested at Catholic, and can't say enough for how nice it was. I had a huge table all to myself and there weren't many people in my testing room... it was really great and they were very professional. I would definitely recommend Catholic based on my experience.

Just for reader clarification, GTown =\= GULC. Opposite sides of the city.

Yeah, this doesn't make any sense, I've taken the LSAT at GULC twice, and both times it was perfect, I've never heard any complaints and this one guy says things that don't fit at all. Unless there's just one room that's different than all the others that they cram everyone into..

An added bonus to testing at Catholic is the strange feeling you get in the testing room. I don't know why but it really feels as if something (not really a person but more like a sprit or ET being) is watching over you, guiding you, taking you by the hand and walking you through the sections. There's just something about that place...

This is late and the OP must have already registered for the June LSAT. LSAC has a list of the test centers available in 2011. For June your only option in DC is test center 1551 DC area test center.
