Finding a preptest in the Kaplan books

Post by Grad09 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 12:13 pm

Any kaplan course takers? Do you know which PTs are the most recent and/or similar to the LSATs being administered in the last couple of years? Where can I find them in the books?

Also, any tips for a mid-160 scorer trying desperately to break 170?

Thanks!

Well, that one's easy. They're consecutively numbered, so higher numbers mean more recent. PT 58 was last September.

Thanks for the help. Perhaps I didn't phrase my question properly, but I want to know which exams from the books are the most recent. They aren't in order, or titled "preptest" so I'm not sure which are which.

The most recent exams are in the Endurance Book (full-length). If you check out the Table of Contents, the PrepTest number is given for each exam.

The most recent exams in the Endurance book are PrepTests 46-48 (2005 exams), PrepTests 50 and 51 (Sept. and Dec. 06), the June 2007 exam, and PrepTest 55 (Oct 2008). All of the exams are in reverse chronological order (except for the last two -- PT50 and PT51) because of their use in the Extreme class.

PrepTests 49 (June 06), 52, 53 and 54 (Oct. 07, Dec. 07 and June 08) are the in-class exams.

More recent exams (PT56 - Dec. 08 and PT57 - June 09) are available in centers. If you ask, you should be able to get a paper copy. PT58 (Sept. 09) should be available soon.

The Pacing Book also includes PrepTest numbers in the Table of Contents. The most recent exams in that book are PrepTests 43-45 (2004 exams).

HTH. If you have more specific questions, feel free to PM me.
