Haha that's a tight proposition. I definitely won't complain about a bit of help with French wherever I can get it.TAD wrote:PretZel I'll teach you French on here. And u can drink all u want. Best of both worlds. And A+ all around...should count as a credited class for lsac gpa.
J'ai Parle la langue d'amour depuis j'ai 12 ans.
Also I play basketball, lift weights and enjoy reading books by john Grisham.
I was just trying to be whimsical when I signed up for this rando class.
Mostly because I have essentially no hobbies. Ha

Re: June 2016 - Waiter's Thread (+170 or bust)
hobbies include eating a lot, cooking, drinking, hiding in my room, trying to find excuses not to go out
I played ultimate in college and thought it'd be a "cool" "active" "adult" thing to join a summer league here.
I joined one, too bad it was for a city of the same name in fucking Ontario. And they had a park with the same name as one here. Was very confused when I showed up to the park and my team was nowhere to be found
Then I went and ate a lot of empanadas instead
These are my hobbies

I want to be a JAG, preferably for the Coast Guard but likely for the Army.needahobby451 wrote:What law do y'all want to do?
If that doesn't work out I'll look into Cyber Law/Privacy. I'm an InfoSec professional now with a stacked list of certs, might try to parlay that into a cyber law career down the road if I can't get back into the military.

I spoke with a Judge who was a former JAG. I don't remember much to be honest, but I do remember it being an interesting path to go.dodint wrote:I want to be a JAG, preferably for the Coast Guard but likely for the Army.needahobby451 wrote:What law do y'all want to do?

In for 100!
Hobbies: Scuba diving (open water, advanced, rescue, deep, nitrox, wreck certed), flying (private pilot's license, commercial, complex, IFR, multi-engine, tail dragger, gliders and seaplane), Golf (awkwardly stuck in the 12-15 handicap range...grrrrr), reading (working on finishing all Pulitzer prize winning fiction and non fiction since 2000), travel (been to 21 countries and lived outside the US for 9 of my 32 years), working on language mastery (goes with travel)...mostly focused on French and Spanish at this point, and finally, racing cars (drag racing and auto-x).

Oh lil sis! We gotta get you out there! This just won't do. Have you considered looking at meetup.com and seeing what different groups are up to? In every city there are always tons of folks getting together to pursue their eclectic interests together (board gaming, video games, dinner clubs, toastmasters, community volunteering groups, etc). Don't be a shut-in at 25!pretzeltime wrote:hobbies include eating a lot, cooking, drinking, hiding in my room, trying to find excuses not to go out

And coffee of course. But I consider that more of a necessity than a hobby. Ha

I am sorrrrrrrrrrrt of kidding and making myself seem more like a miserly recluse than I actually am. Truth be told I have a good amount of friends but I am a lazy POS.
The frisbee-in-Canada thing was a set back for sure, lololol, as ultimate is typically a great way to meet people.
Ironically I am considering starting to volunteer for the Samaritans suicide hotline. Not exactly a cheery place to meet new people. But a great organization.
The problem with meetup.com is I don't really have a fun hobby to bond with others over! But that's a good idea, I will check it out. I can possibly *pretend* to be interested in something in order to meet fun humans.
And of course, just imagine all of the weirdos who will be in my adult education center introductory French class. I am bound to become BFFs with several eccentric retirees.

Like I want a woman who wears a patchwork vest covered in her entire button collection that she's been working on for decades that clashes perfectly with her flowing floor length muslin skirt and she is planning to move to Provence next year and spend the rest of her retirement subsisting on her garden and chickens and goat and making jamponderingmeerkat wrote:These are the best.
