I'm interested in IP a little, I plan on taking a IP survey class as my second semester elective 1L year to get a feel for it. Other than that I havent put much thought into it as to not get attached and then have a class and totally change my mindHennessyVSOP wrote:I work at IP firm too - large, boutique, NYC.Dodocogon wrote:Health law, finishing up Biology undergrad next semester - I work in an office that deals with IP now and I don't know if I'd want to go that direction, but working for a firm that represents hospitals/practices sounds appealing. Re: June 2016 - Waiter's Thread (+170 or bust)
yeah I know, its much better when u wanna get things in after work, but generally its not too bad (I'm lame and dont do much during the week) and can shift stuff. I do a 4 day atm, upper/lower split, strength Mon/Tues and more control Thurs/Fri so can generally tweak days to fit something in if I know its coming up. I used to wake up around 5 so I could workout, shower and get ready to be out the door around 8 (I like to take my time) I could prob get away with getting up at 6 now since I have been more lazy in the AM so getting rdy doesnt take too long but I like sleeping laterponderingmeerkat wrote:Dude, early morning is the best way. Gets you up for the day and you feel great the rest of the time. It's always harder to make a PM sesh with regularity because shit always comes up (you're tired, you have to work late, the frau needs you to pick up some wine on the way home, traffic's a bitch).Smallville wrote: yeah I currently have a pretty simple routine too atm, more focused on strength (gaining more than the little I have) than getting ripped. I used to workout b4 work but would get up wayy too early and once I stopped I was done lol couldnt go back, so now I workout right away when I get home, otherwise I dont work out.
And strength routines are TCR man. These hypertrophy aesthetics routines that are en vogue right now can really fuck you up if you aren't properly coached/taught (which most of us aren't).

I did really want to do it! I was excused bc my jury number was so high (like #1500) and they only needed numbers 1-1450. I think serving on a jury would suit me p well right now - no job, no school, waiting for lsat score, and won't have time to do it after lawl school. Oh wellTheMikey wrote:I was in your situation last summer. Spent 3 days just doing jury selection and eventually they didn't want me. If you really wanted to serve then I can see if you're a bit upset though.patttt wrote:Guys I was just excused from jury duty. Not sure if I'm happy or sad right now

Great insights, thanks! 10:30 to 7 sounds like a dream right now tbh, but the work itself as described doesn't sound that interesting...HennessyVSOP wrote:For everyone who wants to do IP in this thread:

i was thinking more of patent litigation in biglaw. Is that different from what youre describing? or is it way harder to get? i dont really know how things work in the legal industry.HennessyVSOP wrote:

I want to do biglaw for as few years as possible to make a name for myself and get some experience. Then I want try to leverage some networking skillz to get into a comfy GC role on the c-suite, where I run shit rather than do bitch work, at a hedge fund or something like that.needahobby451 wrote:What law do y'all want to do?

It's exceptionally hard to get - super niche. You have to have a background in science, preferably a masters in chemistry or physics. It's very to get any patent related job without passing the patent-bar.R. Jeeves wrote:i was thinking more of patent litigation in biglaw. Same. I'm bi-polar when I consider my potential scores. Some days I'm all, "Hell yea, I'm positive I managed a 173!" Other days I go all sad-boy and think, "Fuuuck, I'm sure I got like a 165 and missed a whole bunch of shit I wasn't even aware of."TheMikey wrote:I was one for the 140HennessyVSOP wrote:btw y'all this poll is getting pretty pessimistic

If people on TLS take a comment about score aims like that personally they're prob not going to do too well on this forum.Smallville wrote:lol way to knock down everyone aiming for/got a 165ponderingmeerkat wrote:Same. not mad here - if Meerkat isn't scoring a 165 on regular PTs, he should be mad if he actually scores that way
