i've tried some fancy ones, but only occasionally. my dad bought me a bottle of de Fussigny for graduation a few years ago, that was probably the best bottle I've ever had. and about two months ago, my practice group (me and one attorney, lol) had a meeting with Hyundai's new luxury segment, Genesis, and we all sat around and drank Meukow, which has a great taste but a better looking bottle.. i was thinking of doing the same for this grey day. Ill def have to make a decision on booze. thankfully i still have like 2 weeks to make it...

It's also a Friday which will be nice considering I plan to either celebrate with a lot of booze or drown my sorrows with a lot more boozeR. Bacardi DB with sprite is really good. I never have it at the bar, only when I'm with friends who like it. But I can usually only have 1 drink of it because it's that type of drink that tastes like a jolly rancher.

I've now decided to buy a bottle of aged rum for my apartment when I move in August. Very much looking forward to this. Looking at Zaya Gran Reserva 12y/o.

That is good stuff. That was always the go to for back in the teenager days when alcohol tasted like pure bug spray. I want to get into rum more for summer but still haven't found one that I love. I've tried bacardi with pineapple juice and a lime; I got a little plastered at a cabin last month after a few glasses.TheMikey wrote:Bacardi DB with sprite is really good. Yeah if I go the rum route it's usually Bacardi, unless I get a basic rum and coke then i'll just get cheap house rum.UltimateSplitter wrote:That is good stuff. Has anyone here had a worthwhile experience at a law firm? I am thinking about some type of legal internship if I decide to enroll for next August. I am under the impression that it is just pure paper pushing and coffee running.
I have seen some people intern for the SEC or FBI, so that could also be a pretty good route to get some better substance.

I haven't worked/interned at a law firm specifically, but I can speak for being a Judicial intern. It is tons and tons of paper pushing, but I did get to sit in on interesting trials, settlements, conferences, etc. Especially as an undergrad intern, you'll be doing a lot of paperwork, but apart from that, you do learn a lot of things. Also, I only made the Judge coffee and tea because his assistant (who always does it for him the way he likes it) was out on maternity leave. Other than that, never did coffee runs lol.UltimateSplitter wrote:Has anyone here had a worthwhile experience at a law firm? I think doing a legal internship is a great opportunity honestly, you should go for it whether it's at a firm, courthouse, legal aid, etc!
ETA: I think the most valuable thing that I got from my internship was my observation of how attorneys present themselves to everyone. I paid close attention to how they approach the Judge, other attorneys, etc. So all in all, it's more than just paper pushing

Guys grey day will probably be on Monday the 27th - its where all the past actual/official release dates point to. Also, if it were to be on the 24th, then it would only be 18 days after the test, which is completely unprecedented.

Call back to pen fetishists enthusiasts, just got a new Parker Sonnet ballpoint for my birthday
Needed a non-fountain pen to take notes with in school, so this should be perfect. Matte black, silver trim. Writes wonderfully (well, for a ballpoint haha).

Wanted to hop out of lurker status (Meeseeks jumping in gave me the nerve to do it, just getting around to it tonight) - I was trying to keep my mind off the test but I'm gonna have to give in to making an account. And who knows, maybe this will end up being strangely therapeutic.
Odds are against that though!

I turned 21 on the 8th, so I've been taking advantage of the alcohol portion of that; lacking on pretzels since then though, I'll get to work.TheMikey wrote:Welcome!
