Hmm yeah I think it might be worse when it's navy pants/black shoes.......navy dress and black shoes at least has some leg in the middle?forum_user wrote:In all serious I would never be caught dead mixing a navy and black shoespretzeltime wrote:Still calling all women lurkers to de-lurk........
On that note, anyone have thoughts on mixing navy and black in a formal professional setting? Navy dress, black shoes????????? Still a faux pas? Still something I should care about?
ANY THOUGHTS, FELLAS?

okay two things 1) i mix navy and black all the time and though i wouldn't say it's the best looking choice, i think it's perfectly acceptable (i often wear a navy dress with a black cardigan and black shoes) 2) HOW ARE YOU MEETING DEAN STRANG????? i saw dean and jerry buting live on their tour (lol) but was way up in the nosebleedspretzeltime wrote:forum_user wrote:pwpretzeltime wrote:Still calling all women lurkers to de-lurk........

Ugh I don't have the dumb dress on yet, waiting until later to put it on. So PISSED that I had to spend actual money at Ann Taylor to get an appropriately bland modest and lawyerly outfit.
On the bright side I am probs meeting DEAN STRANG tonight so I must find a way to look as alluring and yet professional as possible

Hi pretzeltime! Take a look at Princess Kate's engagement photo--navy dress and black shoes. Royalty can't afford to have a faux pas! Dark brown and black, however... that's tougher. Wouldn't recommend that combo, even though I usually disregard fashion rules...pretzeltime wrote:Still calling all women lurkers to de-lurk........

OMG thanks cara henny and brownie!
That was helpful. And I just googled it and yes according to the internet it's okay now.
Normally IDGAF about such things but I am starting to attend these dumb legal functions and I don't know how to dress for them. Eek
Deanie is speaking at a crim defense awards dinner that I'm going to tonight! He's the keynote speaker.
Please don't quote, for good measure.

I'm really just fucking around. Maintain your anon by all means (hell, my wife did for 3-4 years of poasting). We totally get it.
But yes, this entire clown act we call the waiter's thread would be much improved by everyone's being an idiot together. You do you sis/bro! Cheers.

BTW, there's a lady's fashion thread in the lounge where all you double-X types can bounce law-specific fashion ideas off the 4Ls and 5Ls (and 8Ls) that hang around. Pretty solid resource.pretzeltime wrote:OMG thanks cara henny and brownie!

Yea, the lounge can definitely be toxic especially to the ladies on the board. There was a thread a few months ago where some pretty damning shit came out about people not being excellent to each other.Mr. Meeseeks wrote:Second that.
