That's good. Yeah, my friend's GPA isn't that high, she's also not a URM, but I know she can do a lot better than what she has now. I just hope she doesn't settle for fucking sticker at a tier 3..proteinshake wrote:I got one of my friends who got 130K from a T20 to retake. she was letting her URM status go to waste with a sub-par LSAT score!Nachoo2019 wrote:TheMikey wrote:I have a friend who did very very poorly on the LSAT and is on the wait list at a tier 3 school. I have a super low GPA(2.8 LSAC) and worked my way into a full tuition at a T2 in the region I want to work in without what TLS considers a "stellar" LSAT score. She can do it too! Point her towards the TLS hive and give her some reading to do! Unless she wants big law. Then I don't really know how to help her poor soul lol

this girl I know who just graduated from a top 10 university is going to a T3 school and she's a URM. I barely knew her so I didn't say anything, but there's no way she wasn't capable of a T14 school.Nachoo2019 wrote:TheMikey wrote:That's good. Yeah see, honestly I think going to a tier 2 with a full ride is worth it depending on goals. I think in her situation with her goals, a full ride a tier 2 would be sufficient for her. She doesn't want biglaw.Nachoo2019 wrote:TheMikey wrote:That's good. Yeah, my friend's GPA isn't that high, she's also not a URM, but I know she can do a lot better than what she has now. Law school is unlike the club..can't be settling
I had this exact mentality going into taking the LSAT. I was just like, "hey if I get into the local T3 I'll be happy to take out 250k to go I mean I'll be a lawyer so it won't matter how much debt I have right?"
Then I found TLS and I am now the most risk/debt averse person I know... In real life of course. I am actually probably less risk/debt averse than most TLSers.
Basically, thank Jesus I found TLS or I would have ruined my life

My #1 and #2 are a 50th-ish and a T4 who place very well in their (tertiary) market. However, regardless of job availability, I'm banking on each of their low LSAT percentile ranges (75% at 161 and 154) to provide me with some serious $$$. Both schools are also pretty notorious for good scholarships;
I wouldn't know any of this without TLS.

All of my gay friends are fasting for Ramadan in solidarity with the Muslim community in the wake of this past weekend's events.
But I can't bring myself to do it - I don't think I'm strong enough to fast for the next three weeks.

That's an interesting move. I could definitely see LGBT organizations putting on iftar meals for their local Muslim communities, but I guess I'm a bit surprised people have chosen to fast in solidarity. (Not knockin' it though. That is a solid gesture.)HennessyVSOP wrote:pretzeltime wrote:already thinking about what I'll make for dinner.

Fasting is really hard, especially given that Ramadan is in the apex of summer this year. It is tough for even the most able-bodied people.

Me every day right around this time. If it were me I'd throw in some bacon along with the mushrooms and whip up a quick alfredo sauce. Come to think of it, this might be exactly what I dopretzeltime wrote:already thinking about what I'll make for dinner.
