It's the second one. A->~B. Contraposed: B->~A. So if you have one, you will not have the other. Still possible to not have both though.

It's the second one.
Let's say A = alcohol and B = beer.
Thus, if you have beer, you definitely have alcohol.
Let's say some crazy person says you can't have both,
which implies the max you'll get out of the two is one,
then it is clear that if you have beer, you cannot have alcohol. In other words... B -> ~A.
~B -> A, on the other hand, says you only have alcohol, but "not both" does not mean "at least one." You don't need alcohol for this to work.

Really didn't want to join this despite the assumption that you are all great people, but, alas, I do.

Any motivational retake tips / anyone make solid gains (still cannot believe we had a passage about pumping iron) significantly on RC from the -5 to -6 territory and have tips on how to do that? Timing for me is usually tight, but I'm not blindly guessing on anything.

motivation? score well and some school somewhere will effectively write you a check for $200,000. or if you're me redemption for September.
im a hypocrite because i was a lazy potato today and barely lifted a finger.
Haha - fair enough. RC tips?

Yeah, I got an e-mail today with a fee waiver and saying that my score typically gets $75k-$100k from a top 30 school (top 30 is a thing sort of, right?) completely unsolicited. Now, I want to aim higher and fully intend to, but it was a good perspective refresher.

My own motivational tip for retakers (or anyone really... especially if you aren't in UG right now) I think sitting in on a class at a target school (or target with what you are hoping to score) is actually a really good way to get some motivation for anyone in a retake boat. It sort of makes all of this studying/work far more concrete. I may schedule to sit in on a class at NYU if I get demotivated over the next month,

for RC, I feel like I can talk a little (-2 in September but that was luck, I'm not kidding I damn near passed out on passage 4) but, what helped me is not doing timed sections and just trying to really figure out tough passages (maize comes to mind). there's a formula to it that you can sometimes see coming. timing will come enividbly hell even in a week one can develop good timing I think. my score didn't get me shit so congratulations on that email man, some schools think your desirable so imagine what will happen after December.
Thanks - yeah - I think I'll do that. Just work through a bunch of passages for just full accuracy every time. I was doing that at the start of my studies...

Well, going to finish the most recent episode of Westworld, go to bed, and get into it tomorrow.

As far as the motivational part...I agree. That is huge for me. Visits have helped tremendously put a vision in my head to keep me going. Its something tangible you can wrap your mind around to motivate you through grinding hours and hours prepping. a means to an end

Not significant gains, but from 5/6 to 3/4 (on my pt's and when you're in the 170's 2 points is nothing to shirk) and my progression has been through a mix between doing some sections untimed and trying my hardest to get every single question right, and then doing 7sage memory method. Progression has been slow (I've seen my gains over the past like 2 weeks) but steady I think I'm getting a good feel for the passages. I use the super early PT set for my untimed sections and the 29-38 pt set for my timed memory method sets, and my pt's are in the 50-78's atm. Also when I'm doing just an RC section I try to sections in like 33 minutes to improve my speed.

RC tips:

caveat is i'm getting 2 or 3 wrong per RC section, so I am not perfect. I really think Manhattan's RC strategy is good. eliminate wrong answers. Really read into the wording of wrong answers. They sometimes are close in terms of mentioning phrases from the passage, but there are solid reasons why each of the other 4 answers are wrong.

PT 62- Dec 2010
167

RC -4
LR -6
LG -6
LR-3

Wow.... LG straight wrecked me in this PT. First game was hard, second was impossible, third was hard, 4th was okay. One of the hardest games sections ive done yet, was shooting for -0 this pt. Otherwise, happy with -4 RC, not so happy with the -9 on LR. Gotta get my flaw questions down these next four weeks.

Curious:

What is your weakest LR question type when presented with a difficult one in the section?

Mine is definitely MSS questions, but when they are the much more difficult ones.

I'm pretty happy about that, personally the more I forget before I take it again the better.
wait, but you took it, so you should have the PDF for it already and shouldn't have to wait for them to release it

dj9i27 has the pdf of the test they took already, and can print it at leisure.

ZVBXRPL, if you took an undisclosed test (international, Sabbath), you'll never get to see it, as it was different from the one which will be released.

Today's lunchtime section was PT51 games (section 4).

Holy crap. We're never going to see one that easy again, are we? Done with ten minutes to spare.

I agree, some MSS questions later on, also some Resolve Qs can be frustrating later on. Also Principle questions if the language is really nitpicky and you have limited time.

For me, it's just overly abstract and flowery crap that tends to get me later on if it does.

Also, anyone know the process for changing centers/when some centers typically begin to reopen?

Just took PT64 and the LG section was the easiest I've ever done.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
