Top Law Schools

I am mixed, medium brown toned I guess, with curly hair. I really want to dye my hair to a lighter brown with some blonde mixed in. I've always had very dark hair so I'm looking for a change, but I'm worried that it might be considered unprofessional by some people (which I think is just ridiculous). I don't want it to hurt my chances when I'm looking for summer positions during 1L year.

Thoughts?

So long as your hair is a reasonable shade of brown and the "blonde mixed in" doesn't make you look like a tiger, I can't imagine anyone caring.

Well the thing is you just never know with people. There are some who think natural black hair is unprofessional, literally google professional hairstyles then google unprofessional hairstyles and notice the difference. Also like how there are people who think multiple piercings can be unprofessional and some who don't care. I don't think it should be a problem but I'm looking for opinions from people who have more experience with it.

Unfortunately it is a serious post because I've gotten mixed opinions about it *eye roll*. But I want balayage I just need to find someone who will work well with hair as curly as mine.

As long as it's a naturally occurring hair color, it should be no problem at all. Just don't dye your hair blue or pink and you'll be fine.

sorry girl, i assumed you were a yt person stressing about a standard dye job. i totally understand your concern. there was a post or two about this (more re: texture/style than dye tho) in the URM board recently! the good news is, you should be just fine
