Does this violate early decision rules?

School A is my reach and gives ED applicants a decision as early as a couple weeks after the application is complete. If I apply to school A and get denied, can I then go apply to a different school ED?

You cannot have two binding early decision applications out at the same time. Sounds like you wouldn't, so, yes, you'd be fine.

You would be good to go! As soon as school A denies ED, that entire contract is nullified and you can apply Ed to school B

Depends on which law school gets the 2nd ED. For example, NU does not allow any other ED in the same admissions cycle.
"Applicants may not apply to any other Early Decision programs during the same admissions cycle. Early Decision applicants may only apply to other law schools on a regular decision basis."
