Transferring to a lower ranked school for undergrad?

Next year I'll be a junior in college. I currently attend the University of Miami but honestly I don't like it very much at all. I'm from Texas so I want to transfer to an in state public school. I looked into University of Texas at Austin but because I already have 60+ credits I would have to stay an extra semester to graduate which I really don't want to do. I don't want to go to any of the state schools in the middle of nowhere so I applied to the University of Houston and was recently accepted. While University of Miami is obviously the higher ranked school I'm honestly not happy there for many reasons, but would transferring to the University of Houston affect my law school admissions negatively? All advice is greatly appreciated. URM if that helps

So unless it's on the Princeton side or the Derp side of the spectrum, there's not really a difference in where you go to school. Go where you'll get the best grades and be happiest.

For the most part, they don't care what your UG is. Also Miami (school and city) are awful. You made a good decision to bail.

Thanks for the advice guys I'm a lot more confident in my decision now. I'll be in Houston in August and I'll probably talk to you guys again when I run into problems with LSAT studying. Thanks again!

As long as you maintain your grades, it will make incredibly little/no difference.

Out of curiosity, why don't you like Miami?

It's a pretty shitty city. Tampa is where it's at.

But why is it shitty? And why is Tampa "where it's at"?

Miami is overpriced and ghetto. People there suck.
Tampa-St Pete-Clearwater area: nice beaches, cool parks, decent nightlife, icheap, good variety of stuff to do, close to Orlando, plenty of sports, good food, etc.
Miami is just sort of a shithole.
