Visting a School in the Summer

Hello,
I don't know if this topic has been brought up before but I was wondering what everyone thinks of visiting a school in the summer. I'm currently on the wait list for 2 schools in the same city and I was wondering if it is even worth taking an official tour if I cant sit in on a class. What do you guys think? Is it a waist if time or will the school still appreciate the visit?
