Top Law Schools

as the subject says, why are you/did you got to law school? im not looking to get advice or anything here just out of curiosity

I had a 2.5 gpa in undergrad and a pretty good law school told me they were going to give me alot of scholarship money to go to their school.

I was always interested in a legal career because I thought the law seemed interesting and had some positive experiences in the profession (family friends, internship experiences). When I decided to leave my former career, it was a natural move in terms of interest area. Good news about that is that the LSAT score is the most important thing in LS admissions. So, even though I had been doing something entirely different with my life, killing the LSAT (along with a passable GPA) equals good law school.

i'm the OP. i used to be pretty shy and admired the idea of "standing up for" people as lawyers do when they represent their clients. i was working an in-house paralegal job and the company offered to hire me back after obtaining a JD, which is something i appreciated. i honestly enjoyed my work but i could do a lot more and actually be involved in the negotiations and transactions with a law degree. im open to working somewhere else and im not 100% committed to going back to the same company but it was a huge factor in my decision to go to law school. also the paralegal job and working closely with lawyers all day everyday confirmed my interest in the field. also have to admit the "prestige" of being a lawyer is attractive to me too.

Maybe if law school was like med school

I wanted to be a lawyer and it was safer doing this than faking having a JD.

i didnt know people actually did that. at the same time im not surprised....

wrote a couple biotech patents and realized/was told that i'm pretty damn good at it

edit: still acknowledge the high possibility that i will regret my decision
