Postponing the LSAT

I signed up for the October LSAT and self-studied for most of the summer. I thought that by now I'd be steamrolling and absolutely crushing PTs. Unfortunately, however, that's not the case. I decided to enroll in a course and postpone for the December LSAT (I suppose that I needed more structure).
Does taking the December LSAT put me at a huge disadvantage in regards to scholarship $$$ (or admission, for that matter)?
Do schools, for lack of a better word, prefer applicants who take the October test since they submit their applications prior to December takers?

generally speaking you should be fine. There are some scholarships that have earlier dates than that (I believe a nov. date for named ones at NYU), but that's pretty rare.

I would go against above and say take it when you most feel ready since you only get two retakes (unless you want to wait 2+ years).
