I just got into multiple top 10 schools with my June score that I was unsuccessful with earlier (aka rejected to accepted). Its not just them that are still accepting people not on the waitlist. Almost every school will (excluding Upenn, Uchicago and probably HYS).

Not everyone does their due diligence and people fall trap to the marketing emails boasting high employment. Plus the scholarship isn't guaranteed and half the students lose it after 1L and pay full tuition which only proliferates the problem by feeding money into the school.

Is this a humblebrag because it doesn't quite address what OP was saying but good job.

I guess but more of the point its not just lower ranked schools that are still open in certain situations. Sometimes reapply isn't always the best choice, sometimes its asking to re-reviewed even if unsuccessful the first time. Thats all I am pointing out. If it helps 1 person, then good!

I got an email like this from a T50 and was surprised to find the same thing. Class size went down by about 100.

Schools had a lot of profits from before 2012. It's going to take some time for them to close shop for some negative functions when it was profitable for many, many years. The goal to not be the last shitty school to fold up will also guarantee fuller classes in the future so if Depaul and Loyola in Chicago close, Kent will have a full class again and be a cash cow.

People keep going because a lot of people work for even shittier pay/jobs than the legal field and think the credential is worth the risk.

Yeah getting admitted off the waitlist is totally different from a school soliciting new applications for August in July.

I think those are two different situations. T14s keep waitlists on purpose. If they have a lower than predicted yield they have a pool of people sitting right there.

The school I'm talking about in my first post are straight up fishing for anyone. I haven't applied to any schools yet, let alone this one. It even says in the email that if I don't have an application ready then I can give them a call and they'll help me expedite it. I can't image at T14 doing that to in mid-July to someone who is planning to apply for fall 2016.
Sure but this dude is saying he had already been rejected. So not really all that different.

I just received an email from UCLA indicating something similar. It's just not feasible for me to relocate to California in just one month so I won't bother replying but it would be a very interesting option for someone who absolutely has to go this year if UCLA could offer some good funding.

I thought fredfred got in off the waitlist initially but even if he went from rejected to accepted, they just reconsidered an application he'd already put in. Maybe the ad comm made a note like "dinged for too low LSAT score" before.

Still a little different than soliciting brand-new applications a month before classes start.

George Washington is doing this too.
