So let me get this straight. You are asking if you can drop out of law school and later on apply to other law schools with a new score?

Do not matriculate at a school from which you would not be happy graduating.

+1. If you want to take it a fourth time and get accepted to do so, just defer wherever you plan on going currently. It will look bad on next cycle's applications.

What were your scores? It might not make sense to go for a fourth try.

I mean withdraw this cycle from all of the schools and simply apply next cycle. You could ask to defer your attendance a year, although I believe that binds you to attending their school or not attending any school for a year.

I just think I might be able to do better. And I'm having a bad cycle but I think things won't change substantially without a retake.

So you might feel you can do better, but if you're approaching a high percentile, there might not be a point. It wouldn't be worth the 3 months to study, money etc.

It doesn't. I have a nonbinding deferral to a T1 school right now. I have it explicitly stated in writing that I can apply to other law schools this fall. But this is something you need to ask and clear with admissions at the school in question, because if they regarded it as binding, and you went somewhere else the next year, that would probably be unethical. Everyone on TLS seems to think deferrals are binding, but whether any schools actually offer binding deferrals, I'm not sure.
