I know the "i always wanted to the be a lawyer" phrase is absolutely hammered on TLS and I am not saying that is my reasoning behind wanting to attend law school. I am however interested in my people want to go to law school?

There are people that I really like and respect who are lawyers and one in particular affected my family's life in an especially positive way. He's now one of my mentors.

The actual practice of law seems way better than law school, which I think I'd absolutely hate. The fact it takes three years is stupid, the cost is outrageous, and the grading system can appear arbitrary (and sometimes may actually be that way) from what everyone else says.

I'm really happy that I took a corporate job first because now I'm wondering whether I should just do an MBA or alternative MA for way less than a JD and in less time. However, if my either of my mentors would hire me on afterwards, that might change my mind.
