You claimed on previous posts to have a 3.2/173 and also a 3.65/167. Also, you claimed to have a 105k scholly from Vandy. I'm not sure that is "rough" for splitters.

I think you're misreading the OP's post history. S/he commented on someone else's post who got 105K from Vandy with 3.65/167. I don't think OP ever claimed those stats.

Ah so,

So I'm an idiot. But anyways, with a 3.2 and 173.....you should be getting some significant cash right?

Splitter here (3.5x / 17x) . Satisfied with results and money thus far. Actually immensely satisfied.

I have six schools I'm considering, two safeties, two targets, and two reaches. In at all six thus far and good money back from everything but the reaches and a safety (which unfortunately has more to do with delays in submitting needaccess and fafsa due to parents/taxes.

Of course that's just me--anecdotal evidence.

171 <3.0 gpa. Striking out at t14 so far. I didn't expect it to be this bad, anyone know how splitters fare on wait list success?

It has seemed like that to me, especially with regard to scholarship money. Of course, I'm biased.

I'm kind of a splitter, but I also have very good softs (not unicorn but good). My results have been all over the board--I've been admitted with decent scholarships and then waitlisted at schools ranked significantly lower... So I'm not sure what the formula is. The best I can explain it is when your numbers aren't a guarantee it just depends on what the individual committee is looking for. So maybe your application just sucked.

I kid! I kid! Honestly, I've received scholarships (good ones) from schools where I'm below even the 25% in one or both categories. Instead of this making me feel good (which it does, ain't gonna lie), it honestly makes me wonder what's wrong with that school. I think maybe the market is so askew at this point that schools are desperate while still remaining elitist--a deadly and confounding equation for the rest of us to figure out.

still- what do you think hurt you this cycle? Are you KJD? Anything out of the ordinary? I am applying next year and would really like to know how your cycle is going.

Super similar stats and I've also had a pretty great cycle. The only downside has been applying in January (after the December LSAT) and missing out on some of the earlier scholarship waves. Aside from UVA's $0 offer, I've been pretty fortunate so far.

Still on hold. Anyone have evidence, empirical or anecdotal that applying on the first day of cycle benefits splitters? I'm considering re applying lol

171/2.9x

you sub 3s will probably need to ride the wl for a while, maybe into the summer
but i wouldn't give up hope, esp for super splitters with apps to nu

@mozart
applying early helps
but not as much as applying late hurts

Thanks Brut. I don't think I'm willing to do another cycle anyway. I've got a 171 and idk what my odds of retaking and getting a 175 would be, but I could just as easily score 170-171 again.. If no luck off waitlists, I'll just take my $$ at my t25 and call it a day
