Can you change your mind after paying your deposit?

I recently paid half of my deposit to the law school I was planning on attending in the fall. However, I was taken off of the wait list for one of my top choices. Once you already pay part of the deposit, are you locked into the school? Or can you still go elsewhere but lose the deposit?

You just lose the deposit.

Are you sure you should be attending when you do not know what a deposit is?

Not locked in at all. A lot of people even make multiple deposits to buy them time and/or to use as leverage for scholarship negotiation.
