hourly rate for lawyers

Is there a fixed fee for the hourly rate? I was thinking, to combat poor job perspective or by the laws of supply and demand, wouldn't a lawyer's reducing of hourly fee attract more clients? And why are graduates unemployed if they could lower the fee an attract clients.

The economics of the legal world are complex, and they have been discussed ad nauseam on this website.
There are, indeed, millions of Americans who are underserved with regard to legal services. Unfortunately, most public service (or public sector) jobs don't pay enough to allow law students to pay back the massive debt they incur while in law school.
