False dichotomy, bro.

The market for JDs is shit and most people from the very top schools do ok. And by 'ok,' I mean 'probably will be able to pay off their loans without starving.'

Like what is always the right answer on law school exam: it depends.

Most people from those schools do well, but it's also important to note that the people at those schools tend to be very smart. Nobody knows exactly how much of it is the school, and how much of it are the students.

Paying off loans for decades sucks, but I think for the 50% it's generally a solid outcome. Law wasn't what screwed them. Majoring in political science or history was. Law is one of the non-starving artist few fields where good writing is in demand.

"For one, Georgia State has an acceptance rate of 26.8%, which means it’s harder to get into than NYU, UT-Austin, Georgetown, and a number of other well-regarded law schools."

he never went to law school, yet runs a site about law school and publishes his own rankings to compete with usnwr

He publishes stuff on LinkedIn. That's all I needed to know he's a joke.

It's tough on Millennials. A Bachelor's degree today doesn't get you very far in the job market. You won't have much room for advancement in the workforce. A Bachelor's degree today is similar or maybe a little less in stature to a High School Diploma in the 1950's to 1960's. In the 1950's and 1960's most High School students when graduating either went into the military or entered the workforce. They also did alright, made a decent salary and received a pension after working 20 years. Today that safety net is not there.

So the decision that is left with most Millennials is; 1) take a chance on law school and have some debt upon graduation with a high probability that you will have potential upward mobility and land a nice job eventually or 2) Stay with a Bachelor's degree with little to no potential of upward mobility with a working class or middle class salary.

i think there's a third option you're missing
