Backing out of early decision

I applied to my dream school and got in with through a binding early decision program. But, some unforseen circumstances came up and I can't go to law school for at least another two or three years. Is it possible to back out of these programs? The contract does not state what happens if you absolutely can't enroll. Would there be a stigma attached if I reapplied in two years?

This sounds like a question for them. If you honestly have a legitimate reason for delaying, tell them and see if you can get a deferral.

No. You should be ok. Stuff happens. The only way you would have an issue is if you went to another s hook next year instead of the early decision school.

I'm definitely going to ask; I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this.

OK good, thanks. Going anywhere next year won't be an issue as it's just not possible. However, what about applying to other schools in 2-3 years? Maybe by that time I won't have to get in by ED and can negotiate my scholarship
