Who went to UC Davis for undergrad?

Hello,

I really hope I'm writing in the right forum! I recently got admitted as an undergraduate student to UC Davis and I just SIR'd to it last night. I chose it over UCLA which I am slowly starting to regret given the statistics: more students from UCLA get into T14 schools than those from Davis. I picked Davis because it is the school that I feel most comfortable at, not to mention rent is much cheaper than LA living.

I was just curious if there are people who attended Davis for undergrad and is now at a T14 law school. It would sort of help me feel less guilty about being so selfish about being happy and not really focusing on my future...

Thanks!!

I don't know if that was supposed to be a joke or not.. I'm 19. I'm a transfer student.

It's not going to matter. Just get good grades.

Can your mom post just to verify that you're 18 or older? I'm not really buying this whole 19 year old transfer student story.

To answer your question, no, it doesn't matter. If you don't go to HYPS, it doesn't matter.

Too quick to say only PDX was helpful. Thank you very much!

Enjoy undergrad and Davis. I dated a girl from there and she loved every minute of it. Actually, I don't know anyone who went to Davis and didn't have a good time.

I went to UC Davis for UGrad and am currently a practicing lawyer for the state. Unfortunately I didn't go to a T14, so clearly you made an error. Drop out and re-apply so you can get into UCLA.

Thanks! Yeah everyone seems happy at Davis.

Seriously, law schools care about two things only. LSAT and GPA. All of that softs and LORs are marginal. No one cares if you were club president of some club or your professor wrote you a stunning letter. Where you went to schools matters even less.

This is a stretch.

In addition to your books, purchase LSAT study books now and take a practice test.

This is a dumb post, jesus christ.

I went to UCD and currently attend a T14 and seriously, this is not what you should be worrying about. Just get the best GPA you can. Schools couldn't care less about what UG you went to. It's all about the numbers. Just don't fuck up and fail all your classes. and even if you do, just study for the LSAT and get over a 170 and you'll get into a T14. Probably with a scholarship. I had a 2.9 from Davis and I ended up w/a scholarship at a T14. It seriously does not matter where you go to school, chill the f out and enjoy being a college student.

Yeah but if she's takes it at the age of 19 she could lose the score if she decides to get work experience after UG
Best course of action might be to hold off a year or two and focus on grades, internships, extracurriculars, and just enjoying being an undergrad
Years from now when you look back fondly on the hazy, booze-fueled debauchery that exemplified your college years (when you turn 21, of course), you'll be thankful you listened to ol max324

Yeah OP you really don't need to worry about anything law school related for at least a year or two.

I'm not saying to sit for an actual LSAT just yet. But if you're super serious about being ultra-gunnery about going to law school and getting into a school like Harvard or w/e then I don't see the harm in starting your LSAT prep three years in advance. It's like you'd have the experience of an LSAT instructor before you even start. You can also find out early on if you're just like "well F this" and pursue something else while you still have the most options.

I would definitely have picked UCLA, but for nothing to do with law school.

I would've picked LA also, though it doesn't matter. FWIW I attended one of UCD/UCR/UCSC. I'll be attending HLS in the fall. Good luck brah. party and bullshit and all that jazz
