For those of you who have worked over the summer at Big Law firms, could you pinpoint certain personality traits and character types of high achievers and perform well in BigLaw settings?
Is there a specific type that succeeds as an associate and do you see a commonality among partners?

You have to enjoy the subject matter even if you don't like the process. Most don't like the process but are at least intellectually curious and want to understand and get it right. For example if you are doing corporate work then finance and economics should be interesting to you so that you take the time to learn about what your clients care about.
