I'm wondering the same thing. I went ahead and registered for the June LSAT since hope alone isn't going to get me off any WL's, but it would be a huge relief to hear back without having to take it again. However, at one school my status checker already has a blank check box for 'future LSAT score', so I'm willing to bet I'll be waiting until after scores are released to hear anything. For a school that doesn't plan to accept you without a higher score, it's a zero risk strategy for them IMO. Anyone know if this is true? At the school in question my LSAT/GPA are both between 25% and median. While I could take my chances, I'm far more comfortable with the possibility of a successful June retake.

I did something similar last year. PM for details if interested.

I disagree that a school will only hold if you were going to be a reject. I applied and was accepted (with substantial scholarship) to a school one cycle but decided to wait another year. When I reapplied the following cycle at some point I considered a retake so signed up on a whim since I had a fee waiver. I decided not to take it and was lazy about canceling since money wasn't an issue. I realized later that the school was holding my app because they had on record I was taking the Feb LSAT. I had to call and inform them. I think they get the data automatically from LSAT and it might be just an auto don't look at just yet pile you get sent to.

Optimist Prime is correct in this situation.
samcro, your situation doesn't apply to OP's situation because the Feb LSAT is typically used for the current admissions cycle, whereas the June LSAT is typically applied to the next cycle.
When Feb scores are released, regular admissions decisions are still being made. When June scores are released, the only decisions that are still pending are WL decisions.

Register for it after your desired schools' first deposit deadlines. By then the results should be out anyway.

I am in the same position. I actually emailed my schools and told them whether or not I wante them to review my scores now (easier schools) or wait until I hopefully do better on the LSAT (harder schools). It hasn't been a problem for me at all. One school told me not to wait for my new score because the seats are more competitive later in the application process. With others, this was said to not be true. Good luck!
