Retaking a Class after Passing It

Post by hundredyears » Thu Nov 21, 2013 11:36 am

I took a class P/F my sophomore year on a whim and passed it. However, in my current major, the same course needs to be taken for a letter grade. I'm now in an awkward position where a law school might see that I've taken the same course twice--gotten a P once and then retaken it (probably for an A). I feel like this looks bad--almost as if I've sat through the same course for a second time expressly to get the GPA boost. Thoughts?

I seriously doubt any adcomm would notice something like this. If you're worried about it just include a short addendum explaining why it needed to be taken (and why you didn't take it for a letter grade the first time.)

This is nothing to worry about OP.
If it bothers you, just send an addendum with a clarification.
