Can anyone tell me about what the workload is like for a 1LE at Rutgers (homework, reading, assignments, etc.)? Also I am wondering how class grades are calculated. Is it just the final exam or are there graded assignments, participation, etc?

Which rutgers?

Camden: They have an evening program, so it's manageable. I was a regular student there, but I know/knew several night students. They take one less doctrinal class than the regular 1Ls. Thus, 10 credits with 2 4 credit classes ( I think Ks and Civ pro for fall) and writing. Frankly, writing is the bulk of your work 1L year anyway and is true at night. You'll still need to take serious time off (I'd say 5 days studying before each exam) to make it work. Weekends will also suck. That being said, the professors are very understanding of your schedule. RU-C does a good job of making you guys feel like you're part of the whole deal. That deal isn't great, but you're in.

If it's newark, all bets are off.
