u r right. thanks for the advice.Void wrote:I don't know anything about UCLA or their interviews, but I suggest that you consider removing some of the details from your post- anyone from UCLA's admissions could easily tell who you are and that you are trying to get inside intel on the interview. Probably doesn't look good.
thank you both very much. I wouldn't say that my numbers are that great as to be one of those "can't afford to lose" kind of applicants, I would say that it's because they want to know about me more.twentypercentmore wrote:My only experience is that UCLA, and to a much greater extent UCI, will "interview" applicants with weird backgrounds/sketchy academic histories/C&F issues for the purpose of ripping them a new one for 10-15 minutes and then accepting them. This has happened to myself and enough people I know to where I think it's fair to make an honest assumption about how this works; these schools can't afford to lose someone with your numbers, but they want you to know that they have the upper hand in scholarship negotiation -- and that you're lucky to be there.
Do it and get it over with. Don't let them psych you into anything.

Anyway I will try my best to prepare.dsn32 wrote:I had one post-acceptance last year.... basically wanted me to convince them that I was actually considering them before they offered me any scholly $$$. Almost every question involved the T14 that was in my home state/my UG school and why I would consider UCLA when I could just stay put. It was a really odd conversation tbh.
