GPA Weight

I recently graduated from a medium-sized, mid-east, State University with a 4.0 GPA. My school is often recognized to pretty solid in a number of academic disciplines, but I'm nervous that because it's not a Harvard, NYU, or even Ohio State-- though it's of similar caliber academically, my opinion-- my GPA is going to be less impressive. Can anyone offer some insight into how GPAs are viewed from the perspective of law school admissions boards? I know one's GPA is one of two crucial factors, but I'm unsure of how GPAs from various schools are evaluated.

Yeah, it basically won't matter. Have you taken the LSAT yet?

In short, no, I haven't taken the LSAT. I was going to sit for a December test about halfway through my Junior year of my undergraduate degree until I realized that would be a huge mistake given my GPA at that point and the potential I had to fully prepare for the LSAT. I was studying around 4-5 hours every other day at that point, but my test scores weren't improving and I realized I was just "going through the motions" during my studying. Now that I have graduated, and now that I have a huge amount of time to study, I'm going to start really studying hard again.
