Law School Interviews

I read somewhere that because recently there's been a decline in the number of applicants, some schools have begun requiring an interview as part of the application process. The schools I heard that about were Harvard, Chicago, and Georgetown. And I know Northwestern and Vandy have optional but recommended interviews.

I'm hoping this isn't true as I will be living in Thailand for the year before I begin school in fall 2015, which will make interviewing damn near impossible.

Does anyone know anything about interviews? Thank you!

I don't know anything about an increase in interviews, but I can pretty much guarantee that schools will accept a skype interview if you're legitimately out of the country. (And aren't Harvard's interviews all via phone anyway?) Calm down; this is not going to kill your chances.

Harvard does its interviews via skype. I think they also mentioned that if skype absolutely isn't possible then they will do a phone interview.

Chicago's interviews are also via skype.

Is there a thread/link that talks about these interviews (e.g. What they ask, how important they are...)?

Probably the applicant thread for each individual school is a good place to start.

This thread helped me a lot and should speak to all of the schools you asked about (though it focuses on Harvard and Chicago):
