Current Law Students/Grads: What was your major?

I'm considering law school down the line, and am currently going for a Biology major. I'm interested in the subject and feel it's a more useful degree than something like Poly Sci if law school doesn't end up working out. While I'd most like to go the law route, I'm also considering physical therapy, so bio will allow me to get those pre-reqs done. I'm considering adding a minor in Art History (because I simply LOVE the subject), Social Thought or Philosophy.

So what did you do? Any double majors/minors?

I should add that I LOVE history as well and would minor in that if it were possible. I'm seriously considering going for a double major in Bio/History (then I probably wouldn't do the art history minor, though I plan to take a few classes in that anyway because frankly, if I knew I could make a good living with Art History I'd do it in a heartbeat)

Yes, but I would plan to head to PT school. Basically, I'm really set on either law school or PT school (and yes, I understand these are two totally different things). The reality is that, at least to me, it seems it's virtually impossible to really make a good living and have a great career without some sort of graduate degree. Correct me if I'm wrong

Major in Sociology & Anthropology
Minor in Spanish (Consider becoming fluent or at least proficient in a foreign language, particularly Spanish, if you wanna go the PI route. This came up in the interview of my current summer gig)

Thanks for the feedback

In terms of languages, I'm already nearly fluent in French and plan to take Spanish as well, since I plan to practice in California (and frankly, Spanish is useful no matter where you live in the US)

If you're looking for a backup, go for a finance/econ major.

It's about similar in terms of difficulty to biology, but a bit more math (it might be a tad bit more difficult). It's def. a great major as a back up

Finance. I think it's the best degree for law school if you plan to go the big law route. Accounting is more practical in terms of non-law options, but it's less interesting and not as helpful for law unless you want to do tax. If you want to do tax, getting a MACC and working for a few years as a CPA would be great.

If you're gonna do science, something that's good for IP and also provides good non-law options would be best.

You are not wrong. It does not matter what your undergrad degree is in for law school. However, if you are really thinking law school and you cannot maintain a killer GPA w/ biology then I would think about going an easier route. Also, if you like art history and don't have to go to school an extra semester by all means minor in it.

However, if you are on the fence then definitely do biology and consider PT school.

FWIW- poli sci/history double major here.

History. It has helped me in life to the extent that I am reasonably good at some categories on Jeopardy.

I found my history major has made me a sought after free agent at bar trivia nights.

Didn't know that was a thing but I always thought thought a math/philosophy double-major would be great.

One of my best best friends from UG majored in Physics and Philosophy, and god has it made for some fantastic 4AM conversations.
He now works in explosives testing and design for a major aeronautics company and writes poetry/political essays as well as freerunning/parkouring in his spare time. One of the most awesome people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
