Scholarships that are more than tuition?

I've noticed on the stats section that people post scholarships that are much more than tuition at the school in question. I've never gotten a scholarship that is more than tuition. For example, on the Temple page (my first or second choice) people receive scholarships for $30,000 a year but tuition is only $19,000 for in state students. What do you do with the rest of the money?

Generally people are posting the entire scholarship amount, not the per-year amount.
