Your GPA will definitely keep you in the running for all schools, it's just a matter of your LSAT score. If you make 165 you're pretty set for full rides at decent T1 schools. Get over 170 and you're golden for many T-14s.

I wouldn't worry about your softs, since they tend not to make or break your application. Just study hard for the LSAT and do the best you can and come back and TLS will help you with your decision.

Oh, and if you haven't taken the LSAT yet, definitely register for the October exam and even the December exam to max out your potential.

Just FYI, there's a whole forum here on TLS called "What Are My Chances?" Not trying (solely) to be a dick, but you might get more feedback there.

I will be taking the LSAT in June (although I anticipate a score between 155 and 165), and I have a ~3.9 GPA.

Other positive soft factors include the following:
Graduating Magna Cum Laude/top 7% of my class
University Honors Program/Senior Honors Project about Racism/White Privilege
Major: Sociology
Minors: Child Development and Criminal Justice
Student Government (ASI) Director leadership position for community engagement
50+ hours of community service in a service learning course (community service medal)
Camp counselor for underprivileged children (competitive program) I also received a scholarship award for my contributions (I was 1 of 2 recipients of 40+ applications)
Worked two years at my university's childcare center
Mentor with OnTrack America (mentor a child with a parent(s) in prison and keep them "on track.")

Clubs/Organizations/Honors Societies
Alpha Kappa Delta (Sociology Honors Society)
Phi Kappa Phi (GPA)
National Society of Collegiate Scholars (GPA)
Golden Key International (GPA)
Honors Student Activities Council (recipient of most community service award for 2013)
Delta Zeta sorority
Equestrian Club
Intramural softball
Queer Straight Alliance

Diversity:
I have gay parents

Possible Negatives:
I go to a moderately competitive state university in CA

My LSAT score will likely be well below Ivy League medians

Brutally honest, you have a sky high chance of graduating with 6 figure debt and never working at a JD required job.

How long have you been studying and what has been your method? You are at a point where law school could be a damn good investment. Don't get lazy now.

Take and retake the LSAT in hopes of getting a 170 and then apply. Use the resources in the LSAT prep forum to study. This is your new job.

With a 3.9 GPA the sky is the limit. Prep for the LSAT until you are comfortably in the mid-170s. Do not take an official LSAT until then. This may take as long as 6 months of 2-hours-a-day, 6-days-a-week studying. But that's a small price to pay up front for an entire career worth of options once you land HYS or T14 w/$$$.

100% this. Don't settle for a mediocre score.

Eh, if OP gets 172+ on the LSAT, that puts her in HYS territory, where softs do matter.

It would have been good if OP was URM, even if MA.

Please don't say things like this. It perpetuates the anger towards affirmative action.

Softs do matter, but as someone who followed a lot of cycles this year, I can tell you that none of these softs will stand out enough to overcome a low LSAT score.

And a quick search http://www.mylsn.info/3dhite shows that OP doesn't need to be an URM to get into YHS 171 anyway.

OP I would recommend going into the June LSAT trying to get a higher score than you are predicting, and if you fail to do so retake in October. Best of luck!
