Note: Not asking for myself, but am curious for what the consensus is.
Attending a regional school (UNSWR rank between 40 and 70) for COL alone. In other words, on a full tuition scholarship. The school has an LST employment score of between 50% and 55%. Looking at a debt load of between 40-50k. Think something like Florida, Colorado, Illinois....
For the purpose of this question you don't have any T-14 options.
Don't Go includes re-take, re-apply, etc.

It's less risky than going to a better school with a lot more debt. But there is then less payoff. You'll only have a 15-20% chance of getting a good job.
If want to work biglaw, then don't go. But if you really want to be any sort of lawyer, it's a pretty good deal.

Yeah, it winds up being a location issue. If you want to work where that school is located, you're risking far less than if you're trying to make the degree portable. That being said, it will still take work to get the more competitive jobs in that market.

Question's a bit too broad/vague to get a good read from poll results.
Re-take re-apply is kind of hard to say without knowing if the guy underperformed or overperformed his numbers. Location of the regional is also a strong factor; COL can swing a great deal based on this and competitiveness/availability of jobs also swing.

This is what I was going to say. If you were PTing at 171 and got a stomach bug the day before the test that dropped you down to 162, you should obviously be re-taking.
In general, however, I think this can be a fine choice as long as the applicant's goals and expectations are realistic.
