It's a pity public law schools are so outrageous. I don't understand how UVA, a school funded by tax dollars, can justify forcing instate students to pay over 66,000 for a year. It simply doesn't make sense to me.

I make 30k a year, school costs 12k, My living expenses are 10k, the other 8k funds my beer and weed. But I needed about another 10k a year to fund my gambling addiction. So I maXXXed out on federal loans. If I sell my white tiger and purple corvette I will be in the black.

Surprised here too. But remember that TLS has some older people and if you've been working sveeral years maybe y ou've paid down a bit of your school loans. I think if I asked what was your debt directly after graduation then it may have been different.

Or you guys have ridiculously expensive UGs. My total tuition was under $20k.

Yea, I just went to a state school in the city I already lived in on a state scholarship. It is just UG, who really cares.
Seriously, even the thread where the kid was asking for advice between Princeton and UCLA seemed pretty divided. For law school I really don't think UG matters.

I think mine was ~3.5k, but the state of Florida gives a full ride (at any in-state public school) to anyone who scores above a 1270 SAT and does X (100?) hours of community service in high school

I'm sure other states have similar programs

Will be carrying over $0 in debt. For reference, my undergraduate tuition was ~$12k/year (flagship state school).

National Merit at OU gives you 6 years tuition. 5 years living expenses stipend. I know some dude that gradiated UG a year early. Went to medical school graduated with his MD at about 20k in debt. Same for a couple of people here and Law School.

That only 20k in debt doesn't add up unless he was working during UG.

Why would he have to work during ug when his tuition and living expenses were paid for. That 20k was nearly all from his last year.
